Application fields for the ManoPump iV1
Intensive care
A continuous infusion is vital for any dehydrated patient.
The flow rate is conditioned by the required volume and the duration of the infusion:
1 – Initial deficit to compensate
Deficit to compensate (liters) = Weight (Kg) x % of dehydration / 100
Example: 3 kg cat dehydrated by 15% -> Q = 3 x 0.15 = 0.45 l (450 ml)
2 – Maintenance need:
Large dog = 60 ml/kg/24h – Medium dog = 50 ml/kg/24h – Small dog or cat = 40 ml/kg/24h
3 – Loss:
4 ml/kg vomiting – 200 ml/kg diarrhea – 1– 2 ml/kg urinating
Surgery
A correctly perfused animal will wake up faster (no hypovolemia), moreover, the kidney failure risk is considerably reduced.
Recommendation for intraoperative infusion flow rates:
Low blood loss: 10ml/kg/h – normal blood loss: 15ml/kg/h – high blood loss: 20ml/kg/h
During postoperative process, the infusion must be maintained until the patient wakes up.
The ManoPump iV1 infusion pump is equipped with a battery running up to 10 hours:
to monitor the patient before, during and after the surgery
to allow uninterrupted operation even in case of power shortages
to be used at the clinic as well as outside (home-based care, transportation)
